Alumni Owned Business Highlight
The Refinish Line  »

Christopher Matthews standing in front of a half circle of wooden chairs

The Refinish Line is a Texas-based furniture restoration business owned and operated by alum Christopher Matthews (‘75, Business Administration). Christopher has always had an interest in wood, in particular contrasting wood grains and colors. For many years he refinished his own furniture, so when he retired from his career as a software system's engineer, he decided to see if he could sell his services to the public. This afforded him the opportunity to work with many more wood species, refinishing products, and refinishing techniques. And, it worked! The Refinish Line will offer all California State University alumni a 15% discount and all Humboldt alumni a 20% discount.
