The Gift of Practical Plant Experience

Thanks to the generosity of Professor Emeritus Dennis K. Walker (‘60, Botany), the campus greenhouse, an iconic facility where students apply their plant knowledge, will receive an injection of TLC this semester with funding to hire a permanent assistant manager.

Meet Oregon’s Official Forester

“I’m not a pure forestry guy.” So says “forestry guy” Cal Mukumoto (‘77, Forestry), who was appointed the official Forester for the State of Oregon last year. Mukumoto now leads hundreds of employees of the Department of Forestry and helps manage 745,000 acres of forestlands.

Since graduating, Colleen Clifford (‘02, Studio Art) has created Colleen Clifford Stained Glass, a digital home where you can preview her work and contact her for custom designed pieces. Her art is commonly inspired by Humboldt’s local nature and honors biological accuracy with the perfect touch of artistic imagination. Her work can also be seen at the Trinidad Art Gallery in Trinidad, California.
