Documenting the Past and Preserving the Future

Inspired by their passion for Humboldt, history, and lifelong learning, Jerry and Gisela Rohde have made a transformational gift to the Cal Poly Humboldt Library and its Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of more than $2 million through a planned bequest. The gift commitment is the second largest in University history.

Jessie Perez (‘10, Biology) is making a difference in the way we breathe through innovative air purifiers at Violett. After completing the prestigious stem cell biology research internship through Humboldt-CIRM, Jessie went on to get a Ph.D. from UC Santa Cruz in cellular, molecular developmental biology. After a decade creating medical devices, Jessie focused on the needs of the pandemic by creating the technology at Violett for their COVID-fighting air purifiers.
