Cal Poly Humboldt

A Message from the Acting President

August 30, 2024

Reflecting on the Past Week in Humboldt

Dear Colleagues,
As I wrap up my first week at Cal Poly Humboldt, it has become clear that among the strengths of this University is the community of faculty and staff. I want to take a moment to thank you all for nurturing the potential in all our students.
Because you are essential to the success of students and the University, I believe in communicating with employees as much as possible, especially when it comes to significant matters that affect our campus community and the California State University. Those topics include the CSU’s interim Time, Place, and Manner policy. Please take time to read this important message from Chancellor García, which helps to clarify some points in the policy that are applicable for all represented and non-represented faculty and staff.
In my previous message, I talked about the importance of listening to and learning from you. So many of you are now sharing your stories and sharing some laughs—interactions that I truly appreciate as I get to know the campus community.
Thank you for your warm welcome to Humboldt. I hope you have a fun and safe holiday weekend, and I can’t wait to see you at College Colors Day on Sept. 13!
Sincerely,
Michael E Spagna Signature
